Bermuda Tourism Authority Invites Entrepreneurs & Professionals to Global Entrepreneurship Week Launch Event
Bermuda Tourism Authority has announced its support of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Bermuda as a major sponsor in partnership with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC). Entrepreneurs and business professionals are invited to tomorrow’s (November 1) GEW Partner launch event, ‘An Evening with Pamela Thomas-Graham’. The evening held in partnership with Butterfield is expected to be an inspiring and enlightening event featuring Butterfield board member and digital media enterprise founder, Pamela Thomas-Graham in a fireside chat moderated by Hazel Clark, Director of Global Sales & Business Development at the Bermuda Tourism Authority and US Olympian.
An Evening with Pamela Thomas-Graham will take place at Butterfield Rosebank Center on Tuesday, November 1 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
The conversation will explore themes around leadership and the entrepreneurial journey. Ms. Thomas-Graham will share her path to entrepreneurism. Attendees will hear about how she built on her early experiences to create the luxury digital media platform, Dandelion Chandelier. She served as student-editor for the Harvard Law Review, became the first African American woman to be named partner at international management consulting firm McKinsey & Company and served as president and CEO of CNBC, as well as a stint as President at Liz Claiborne Inc.
Global entrepreneurship week began as a week-long celebration to inspire, mentor, and engage the public around all things entrepreneurial. Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators, who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare. In Bermuda, the BEDC has extended the activities for the entire month of November. The BTA interim CEO will serve as a judge in the Pink Pitch (tourism) for the virtual Rocket Pitch event on November 15.
Tracy Berkeley, interim CEO at BTA said, “It is a natural fit for us to support Bermuda’s community of rising entrepreneurs through the education and empowerment series spearheaded by BEDC. It’s possible the next great tourism idea may just emerge from this cohort. We look forward to the inspirational Global Entrepreneurship Week speakers and the conversations around innovation and ideation that will take place this November.” An Evening with Pamela Thomas-Graham will take place at Butterfield Rosebank Centre on Tuesday, November 1 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. RSVP is required and admission is free. The monthlong series of Global Entrepreneurship events can be found on the BEDC website.
