NIGHTLIFE

Enjoy a quiet night out at some of Bermuda’s most sophisticated bars or hop on a sunset cruise for a relaxing way to drift into the weekend.

Board your 50-foot catamaran for a sunset cruise that will take you from Dockyard, the most Western tip of the island, around the Great Sound and its many small islands. As the sun starts to set, your guide will dive into the culture and history of Bermuda before introducing some live music to entertain you as you watch the sky light up. Sip on a Swizzle, a national drink consisting of fruit juices and Bermuda rum, and watch the day fade away. You will return to the dock just in time for dinner.

There are many cocktail bars and restaurants that are frequented by the locals who are finishing their workday in Hamilton. Some of the best places to go for chill vibes are The Cloud, Harry’s or Port o’ Call. If you want to find a place to catch some live music, try Hog Penny, a tiny little English-style pub, with an acoustic singer playing your favourite tunes until midnight.

Hotel Happy Hours:

ON THE WATER

Bermuda offers the perfect opportunity to relax out on our beautiful turquoise waters. Rent a stand-up paddleboard and explore the calm shores, rent an electric boat to slowly cruise around and view the homes of the rich and famous in Castle Harbour, take a private tour of famous shipwrecks, and jump in to snorkel around our reefs. One of the cheapest ways to enjoy the water is to jump on the public ferry pink route and cruise around Hamilton Harbour stopping along the way at various stops.

ON LAND

Although the island is small, there are plenty of places to feel secluded and away from the hustle and bustle. Activities that suit a more relaxed agenda include horseback riding on the beach, treating yourself to a spa treatment in a unique place like Grotto Bay’s limestone caves and exploring century-old forts and parks.

Take a walk through the Railway Trail, which stretches across the whole island. A popular trail is starting at Bailey’s Bay bridge and walking along the coastline to Crawl Hill. For total isolation, find a secluded beach on Cooper’s Island or a private cove along the South Shore in Warwick.

MUST TRY FOOD AND DRINK

Let’s start out with the must-try cocktails. Goslings Rum is the local black rum and is used for many cocktails including the Rum Swizzle, Bermuda’s take on a rum punch, best served on a beach or on a sunset cruise. You can try more sophisticated cocktails at The Cloud, and if you enjoy an Old Fashion you must try De Ole Ganzie, which has a Goslings Rum twist. Bermuda also has a couple of noteworthy craft breweries that serve a range of IPAs, ales, ciders, and more. You can visit Bermuda Craft Brewery in Devonshire and enjoy your beer right there on the premises, or you can go to Frog and Onion to try Dockyard Brewing Co. ales and beers. Try a flight of 4 to try a variety of brews and then pick your favourite!

There are plenty of high-quality restaurants across the island. You will definitely want to try the fresh seafood. Try Pearl if you want to try some delicious sushi, Barracuda Grill offers one of the island's best Fish Chowders, and if you want to try Bermuda’s famous fish sandwich, take a trip to Seaside Grill, a hole-in-the-wall style restaurant on North Shore with an abundance of seafood. You will also find food trucks scattered across the island, each with their own unique offering. Try Pacos Tacos on Front Street for everyone’s favourite Mexican dish (with local fish).

For brunch, you can’t beat The Pink Beach Club at the Loren hotel. Located at ocean level with unbeatable views of the South Shore, you can enjoy delicious fare like fried chicken and cheddar cheese waffles with rum syrup!
