Local Businesses Open to Visitors Elevated Online

The Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) has added an innovative new feature to its website to help travellers to the island see which local enterprises are now open for business.

The BTA created a visual cue on GoToBermuda.com that clearly signifies to consumers which hotels, accommodations, retail stores, restaurants, bars, attractions, tours and other experiences are open and safely accepting visitors.

“This is an effort to support our industry stakeholder businesses, as well as make Bermuda easier to experience for visitors every step of the way—from booking and arrival and through their vacation,” said Victoria Isley, the BTA’s Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. “With such quickly changing information around travel, we want consumers to have confidence when they visit GoToBermuda.com. Our checkmark is a simple but graphic way to guide users through their planning journey without the frustration of wondering whether or not a place is open.”

The visual cue—a green check displaying the words “Open for Business”—appears alongside Places to Stay now and will appear on other tourism businesses as they share their operating information with the BTA team. As the island’s tourism enterprises continue to reopen throughout the summer, their status on GoToBermuda.com will change to reflect this banner and indicate to customers they are open or accepting reservations and bookings.

Tourism operators across the island who wish to signify to customers they are open and operating can ensure their business status is correct by logging in to the BTA’s stakeholder portal, BTAConnect, and adjusting their partner profile. Businesses are invited to follow the instructions in this snapshot guide. Those experiencing any issues logging on can send an email to [email protected].

Businesses without a BTAConnect profile can complete the new business form.
