About Building Bay Beach
Seeking some solitude or enjoy searching for sea glass? This small, uncrowded beach on St. George’s Island is an ideal spot. Resting under the Alexandra Battery, a fort from the 1860s, Building Bay Beach today is best known for its colourful fragments of sea glass, silky sands and clear, calm waters. Since there aren’t any amenities at this beach, pack a picnic and admire the view of open ocean in the distance. Kings Square in the Town of St. George is about 1.3 kilometers (0.8 miles) away – it’s a scenic stroll that takes about 30 minutes.
