Early Bird Charters is a family run business in Bermuda with over 30 years of fishing and boating experience. Captain Jim West and his father, Captain Blake West, offer a variety of experiences on the water. From sustainable deep and reef-sea fishing charters to sunset cruises to small wedding charters to plain old fun in the sun; you can find a charter that suits your needs with Early Bird Charters! Jim's wife, Melanie Fiander West, handles the bookings and as a professional wedding and lifestyle photographer, Fiander Foto, she offers her photo services to those who would like their charter to be captured on camera. Their 42-foot double-ender boat, Troubadour, was rebuilt by Blake between 1980 and 1982. Troubadour is run by a Ford 125 horsepower diesel engine and cruises up to 8.5 knots; ensuring a steady and relaxed voyage. When setting out from the dock for either a half-day or full-day "Fishing Charter", the Early Bird crew drives along the "Edge" of Bermuda to catch Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, Black Fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, and on occasion, Barracuda. During the sunset hours, Early Bird Charters offers an "Evening Boat Cruise", which can be paired nicely with the "Vacation Photos at Sea" package. For those looking to be wed at sea in a small intimate ceremony, Early Bird serves as the perfect venue for a "Wedding Charter" with a package price that includes Melanie as the official wedding photographer!
