The Globe Museum

Learn about Bermuda's role in the American Civil War with a visit to the Bermuda National Trust Museum in the Globe Hotel. The museum occupies one of Bermuda's oldest stone buildings, dating back to 1699. Originally a government house built by Governor Samuel Day, it later became the headquarters of Confederate Major Norman Walker during the Civil War, when Bermuda served as a liaison helping the Confederates trade with England. This relationship is described in a permanent exhibit called "Rogues and Runners: Bermuda and the American Civil War." The museum sits north of King's Square in the Town of St. George.

The Globe Museum and Trustworthy Gift Shop is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00am until 2:00pm. These hours may change, please visit bnt.bm for regular hours.
