About Globe Museum – Bermuda National Trust
In the heart of the World Heritage Site, you will find Globe Museum in one of Bermuda’s earliest structures. Built in 1700, Globe has survived for 325 years, from being the second Government House in the one-time capital, home to generations of Bermudians including enslaved families, operating as a hotel where Mark Twain dined, to being a Bermuda National Trust Museum today. Within its grand architecture, view films on St. George’s, learn about the island’s early settlement, explore the expansive “Rogues and Runners” exhibit on Bermuda’s role in the US Civil War. See dramatic portraits and landscapes, archaeological finds from shipwrecks and island digs, miniature models of the first settlement ships and early town, antique furniture, and historic artefacts. Relax in Globe’s lovely garden overlooking St. Peter’s Church or browse BNT merchandise and books and the work of other local authors and artisans in our Trustworthy shop.
